The “Grounder” – Congregation Newsletter from the Ground Zero Mosque
What’s Going On at the GZM (Ground Zero Mosque) This Week?

Prayer Rugs for the Needy:
We’re collecting prayer rugs for the needy. Please put all gently worn prayer rugs in the bin right next to the Stoning Wall. We’ll be distributing them next Thursday, so please make sure to put your donation in the bin before then.

Newlyweds Social Group:
Just got married? Confused about what happens next? It’s hard to make a marriage work in 2010, and we’re here to help. For guys, we talk in an open and supportive environment about learning your wife’s name, understanding her limitations, and beating her with a bag full of oranges. For the gals, it’s All about Obedience. Tea and cakes are served (separately) after the sessions. It’s really a great way to meet other newlyweds and to realize that Hey! We’re not alone! We meet every week in the Crimes of Judaism Conference Room. To sign up or for more info, just e-mail makingmarriagework@groundzeromosque.org

Youth Group Picnic & Stoning:
Where: Ft. Tryon Park
When: This Saturday
What: The youth group has been doing some amazing work this year—we’ve raised a lot of money for the new Teen Hangout Center in the basement of the main hall—and we’re celebrating with a picnic! And a stoning!
What to Bring: Frisbees, a boom box for listening to audio tapes of the great imams, hot-dog buns, a great attitude!
What to Wear: Sweaters in case of cold weather, heavier burqas. Gals: Remember to bring the burqas with the slightly larger eyeholes for Ultimate Frisbee.
What You Can Do: Please consider pitching in, either in the morning before the picnic to help set up tables and chairs and the barbeque, or maybe you can help gather smooth, tossable stones from the nearby river bank, or maybe there’s a special person in your life who you feel needs to be stoned to death (nominees due via e-mail by Tuesday AT THE LATEST!!!!!!). The key is to get involved!!! The Youth Group is only as strong as YOU make it!!! You get out of it what you put into it!!!! Any ?? or thoughts, see us after morning call to prayer or e-mail youthgroup@groundzeromosque.org

Recovery Programs at the GZM:
Canceled due to eternal damnation.

Outreach Fellowship Meeting:
This year, the Outreach Fellowship is making it a major goal to reach out to other local places of worship (that aren’t befouled by Jews) in the neighborhood (except the Jewish parts). We’re trying to recruit some outgoing, not-overly-angry folks from the congregation to appear at local events, town halls, etc. and remind folks that we’re just ordinary, run-of-the-mill everyday types.
Neighbors and friends and regular folks:
All volunteers will receive extensive media training on how to stay on message, how to speak to groups, and how to talk to an uncovered woman without throttling her and calling her a whore. Please e-mail outreach@groundzeromosque.org for more information.

Gay ’n’ Grounded:
The gay Koran study group at the Ground Zero Mosque has unfortunately disbanded due to the sudden death of all of its members after they spontaneously burst into flames. We’re trying to recruit another group. If you suspect anyone of being a potential member of this group, please let us know immediately.

Blood Drive Next Week:
Next week is the kickoff to our annual Blood Drive, and we’re hoping that all members of the congregation will do their part to make this year’s Blood Drive the Best Ever!!!!! Please collect as much Jewish blood as you can!!!!

Announcements:
Anyone who thinks he saw my wife speaking freely to the UPS man—signing for a package, showing the top of her right hand as she held the stylusthingy—PLEASE let me know immediately. Am trying to get Tuesday morning off (my supervisor at work is a real pain) to exact an honor killing. Thanks! See Ramzi in the outreach office.
Have two tix to Lady Gaga concert, willing to exchange for powdered explosives. Please e-mail pillarofflame@caliphate.gov.sa

Want Ads: Trying to arrange a marriage for my 13-year-old daughter:
She’s compliant and very quiet. Totally illiterate. A great catch. Looking for husband somewhere between 60 and 90 years old. Dowry negotiable. Interested in barter. Please e-mail me at coldpressedimporting@aol.com
Your photo gets hers, although she’s entirely covered.
Not into endless e-mailing. MUST BE SERIOUS.
Have an announcement or group you’d like us to know about? Just drop us a line at thegrounder@groundzeromosque.org and we’ll be sure to include it in the next issue of
The Grounder! Remember: It’s your GZM!

By: William McCullough

One of the many responsibilities of the office of the President is that of Command In Chief. Yet for some reason in the obfuscation and self aggrandizement of the border line malignant narcissists that sell themselves to be elected, the American public does not question the ability of their candidates to manage our military. The most obvious case in point is the current President, Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is and has always been publicly disdainful of the military since his days at Columbia University. His opposition to the surge that broke the back of the Iraqi insurgency is one example with the most recent being his opposition to former Afghan Commander McChrystal’s request for a second surge in Afghanistan. Obama to prove a point to his radical lefitist base, deliberatly delayed the troops requested and then grudgingly ordered 30,000 troops instead of the 40,000, (the actual number started at 60,000), troops that Gen. McCrystal requested. In that the ratio of support troops to combat troops is 8 to 1, Obama actually only gave McCrystal roughly 7,000 combat troops.

McCrystal of course eventually challenged Obama’s ability and resigned in protest. You will remember that McCrystal was the commander who pulled off the successful surge in Iraq. But then he had a President who respected his field commanders judgement and supplied the troops necessary to carry out that campaign.

A Military Times poll conducted early this year found that 31 percent of subscribers to the publication approved of his job as commander in chief, while 53 percent disapproved. Those findings were similar to Military Times poll taken in December 2008, just before Mr. Obama was inaugurated, and found that 32 percent were “optimistic” about Mr. Obama as their commander in chief, while 30 percent were pessimistic and 35 percent were uncertain. (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/30/troops-yet-to-give-obama-full-salute/?page=2&sms_ss=digg)

According to the various Marines, Army and National guard service members I talked to the actual number is far north of 53 percent. Among the Marines returning from Afghanistan, according to those I have talked to, the figure is closer to 75 percent who have no confidence in his ability as Commander In Chief. Their opinions are firmly anchored on the fact that they believe, as was stated by Marine Commandant Conway last week, that Obama has amped up the morale of the Taliban who according to intel reports, are celebrating Obama’ announcement of withdrawal. That along with the ROE policies that Gen. Petraeus was allegedly going to loosen up, have conspired the loss of whatever residual confidence these combat troops may have had in Obama’s ability to command. Simply put, Obama is incompetent and not fit to wear the mantle of Commander In Chief. Just my opinion.

Gregg you crack me up. The idea that you would open a gay bar next to all those closet case homophobes from the mosque, is a brilliant idea. That said I would encourage any of my greater New York Metropolitan area readers, of which there are more than a few, to support Gregg by stopping in for an occasional drink. To all you hard hats, don’t worry- you can drink your beer out of the bottle and stand with your back to the wall. To those who are comfortable with themselves and aren’t really looking for a little fudge you can drink out of a glass. Also ask if you can bring your dog with you and walk them outside before you come into the bar – do not, I repeat do not, under any circumstances bring your pooper scooper. With a little luck Gregg might inspire those Muslims still in the closet to come in for some manly company, a few drinks and if brave enough – maybe a little fudge and maybe develope a little fondness for mans best friend. One last thing, in case you’re wondering I am addicted to woman and drink my beer out of the bottle. Salud! WM

By Gregg Guttfield – The Daily Gut.com, September 2, 2010

So, the Muslim investors championing the construction of the new mosque near Ground Zero claim it’s all about strengthening the relationship between the Muslim and non-Muslim world. As an American, I believe they have every right to build the mosque – after all, if they buy the land and they follow the law – who can stop them? Which is, why, in the spirit of outreach, I’ve decided to do the same thing.

I’m announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space.

This is not a joke. I’ve already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.

As you know, the Muslim faith doesn’t look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I’m building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.

The goal, however, is not simply to open a typical gay bar, but one friendly to men of Islamic faith. An entire floor, for example, will feature non-alcoholic drinks, since booze is forbidden by the faith. The bar will be open all day and night, to accommodate men who would rather keep their sexuality under wraps – but still want to dance.

Bottom line: I hope that the mosque owners will be as open to the bar, as I am to the new mosque. After all, the belief driving them to open up their center near Ground Zero, is no different than mine.

My place, however, will have better music.

By Mike Adams – Townhall.com, September 1, 2010

I’m sitting at my desk trying to think of ways to insult the followers of Islam as intentionally and as maliciously as the Park51 organizers have recently insulted the citizens of this great Christian nation. It isn’t easy to be as abrasive and arrogant as those who propose building a mosque at Ground Zero. But I’m trying my best. Here are some of my ideas:
I propose building a mosque at Never Land ranch, the former home of Michael Jackson. I would then defend the building of the mosque by reminding opponents that people have been making pilgrimages to Never Land in order to worship a mentally deranged pedophile for years. Putting a mosque there would not change things substantially. Plus, one can reach California from Dearborn, Michigan in a couple of days. The same cannot be said of Mecca.

I propose building a large bomb filled with bacon grease, which would be dropped on the new Ground Zero mosque during the ground-breaking ceremony. Dubbed the “Mother of All Bacon,” or MOAB, this bomb would not actually hurt anyone. It would just permanently defile the location so that no one could worship there. That would take care of any Separation of Church and State issues in the event that Obama tries to use any future stimulus money during site construction. My bomb would also have a picture of Mohammed painted on the side with the caption “Mr. SOB” printed below.

In case you were wondering, “Mr. SOB” is short for “Mr. Scared-of-Bacon.”
Finally, I would propose setting up a vending area that fully surrounds the Ground Zero mosque. I would then gather a number of my redneck friends from South Carolina for a massive hog hunt. We would then sell the smoked hogs at vending locations near each entrance to the Ground Zero mosque. I would offer a “Boar-doba” special all-you-can-eat pig pickin’ platter for $9.11.

Before anyone gets too upset with my proposals and tries to behead me for my remarks on Islam, please remember two things:
1) I am writing this column with a loaded double barrel shotgun to my right and a loaded .357 magnum to my left. If you are a sword-wielding jihadist, please don’t bother. You’ll only annoy me and make me spill my coffee.

2) I am writing this column with tongue firmly planted in cheek. No follower of Jesus would take even one of my proposals seriously. They are meant to remind readers of just how crude, barbaric, violent, and intentionally insulting the followers of Islam really are. Religion of peace, my backside!

It may well surprise my readers when they hear me say that I will not join the efforts of those who seek to block the building of the new mosque at Ground Zero. I take this position for the same reason that I have refused to support legislation banning the burning of the American Flag. John Stewart Mill once said that censorship is wrong for two reasons. First, it deprives people of the truth. Second, it deprives people of a greater appreciation of the truth via its juxtaposition with falsity.

When someone burns an American Flag we learn the truth about the extent of anti-Americanism among the ranks of our own. We also develop a greater appreciation of those who have fought for our freedoms. When I see my neighbor burning a flag I can boycott his business. I can then give my business to a veteran who has fought to defend the hateful idiocy of flag burners everywhere.

We cannot punish anti-Americanism if we engage in the prior restraint of its expression. We must allow it to flourish for a time if we are to mobilize a more effective response. The application of this reasoning to the controversy over the present Ground Zero mosque is obvious.
By not standing in the way of the construction of this mosque we will allow its supporters to exercise fully their constitutional right to make fools of themselves. When the mosque is completed I look forward to retracing the trail of its financial supporters to the very beginning. I have no doubt that such a search will lead us into the halls of the Obama White House. Nor do I have any doubt that Obama’s affirmative support of this project will lead to his permanent political downfall.

In the end, members of the Obama Administration may decide that the complex housing the mosque at Ground Zero would be a good place for an Obama Presidential Library. Either way, it is a good place to celebrate anti-Americanism for the free world to see and the sane world to judge.

Signs In Arizona Warn Of Smuggler Dangers

By Jerry Seper and Matthew Cella -The Washington Times, September 1, 2010

The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway in Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a local sheriff says Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the state.
