Obama Won The Iraq War – Or Maybe He Didn’t

Baghdad attack

I don’t know about you but I’m confused. President Obama announced last week that he ended the Iraq War. Usually when Obama declares something, it in fact becomes reality, after all he is the messiah - the entity of the second coming. No doubt his alleged mandate from on high, has led him to believe that his word is fact. However, once again he was talking out of his other orifice.

Yesterday, Iraqi insurgents attacked the Iraqi Army headquarters in Baghdad. According to what Obama assured us, that the Iraqis were ready to take over their own security, apparently that was just wishful thing. Lucky for them “non combat” U.S. forces were on hand to save their butts.

The NY Times reported:   ”The insurgents detonated a vehicle outside the base, killing the driver, while another suicide bomber detonated an explosive vest at a checkpoint. After an initial lull, as Iraqi forces collected the dead and wounded, the attack continued for three hours as two insurgents escaped into the building, firing automatic weapons and throwing grenades from an upper floor window.

At least 12 people were killed, at least four of them soldiers, officials said, and 36 others were wounded. The Baghdad Operations Command said that six insurgents had been killed.” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/06/world/middleeast/06iraq.html

What this means to the uninitiated is that three separate, co-ordinated attacks took place in one day on the same location. Doesn’t sound to me like the “war” is over or that the insurgency is defeated. What it simply means is that Barack Obama’s pronouncements are just smoke and mirrors.  Just my opinion.

Smoke and mirrors. Smoke and mirrors.
