Now lets see….Obama is letting the Iranians get away with developing nukes that threaten not only the middle east but also the soft under belly of Europe. Then he, with great wisdom, announces to the Taliban that we will be leaving Afghanistan next year – they of course celebrating, according to Marine Comandant Conway, at this piece of good news. Meanwhile, Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s brother Mahmood , who controls the opium trade in Kandahar province, is playing footsies with the Iranians who are helping kill American troops in theater. This of course not discounting that our ally, good old Hamid Karzai himself is in negotiations with the Taliban, while they are busy killing Marines, courtesy of Irans financial largesse. We might conclude that this whole seemingly surrealistic drama, might be a nightmare dream. Unfortunately its all too real. But don’t worry – Obama will map out his strategy for our victory – in his dreams. Just my opinion….William McCullough

KABUL — At least five Iranian companies in Afghanistan’s capital are using their offices covertly to finance Taliban militants in provinces near Kabul, according to a Sunday Times investigation.
Afghan intelligence and Taliban sources have told the newspaper that the firms, set up in the past six months, provide cash for a network of district Taliban treasurers to pay battlefield expenses and bonuses for killing the enemy and destroying their vehicles.
The Iranian companies win contracts to supply materials and logistics to Afghans involved in reconstruction. The money often comes in the form of aid from foreign donors.
Profits are transferred through poorly regulated Afghan banks — including Kabul Bank, which is partly owned by President Hamid Karzai’s brother Mahmood — to Tehran and Dubai.

Imagine if the US had a military presence in Afghanistan? If we did we could, by stealth, kill all the Iranians and destroy their offices. Then, we could kill all the Afghana’s under their pay and totally eliminate this festering canker. But since we’ve converted our soldiers to nation builders on a good will mission to win hearts and minds instead of trained military personal free to put to use months and years of training, we will just have to learn to live with those pesky Iranians. Is there an Iranian voting bloc here?

Very interesting. Sounds like the same situation when Saddam was paying the families of suicide bombers. Nahhhh, Iran wouldn’t be doing something like that. Heck! They even gave up their WMD program years ago, the NIE report of 2004 said so. They’ve got a democratically elected government and everything. It’s all khoob.
Iran has been the major culprit of both wars for years. I will be shocked if this administration does anything tangible. Democrats creat the conditions and temsions leading to wars the Republicans get blamed for and are forced to fight while the Democrats back bite and backstab the entire time.
