Political Public Opinion: Immigration Reform – Hypocracy And Hidden Agendas

Make up your mind Chica- our flag or yours….

President Barack Obama called a bipartisan effort to revive legislation that would revamp U.S. immigration laws “promising,” and committed his administration’s backing for the initiative….Obama met at the White House yesterday with Democratic Senator Charles Schumer and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who are drafting an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws. They gave him an update on attempts to lay out a path to win bipartisan support for the measure.

Schumer, of New York, and Graham, of South Carolina, are working on a measure that would create a guest-worker program, tighten border security and resolve the status of the estimated 12 million immigrants in the country illegally.  http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=aNSmCLwBWFX0

Lets face facts: Immigration reform is nothing more than a code phrase for legislation that will benefit those business interests who exploit immigrants as well as urban politicians looking to expand their constituency through increased population for their districts. The result of immigration reform of course will be more money for entitlement programs that will surely swell once the families of economically lower rung  immigrants flood into the U.S. Their presence, with few jobs available, will be hard to sustain and further bankrupt the already overwhelmed entitlement system.

This was acknowledged by VP Joe Biden, who while on a visit to Costa Rica in March of 2009 to stated: “It’s difficult to tell a constituency while unemployment is rising, they’re losing their jobs and their homes, that what we should do is in fact legalize (illegal immigrants) and stop all deportation,”  http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE52T7SE20090330

Among the plethora of the many unanswered or acknowledged questions is:  How do we support a population increase that will add a large number of mostly poor and under educated people from Mexico and Central America? The simple answer is we can’t. The idea that Schumer or the make believe Republican Lindsey Graham should have the temerity to insist that this move would be beneficial to our country, displays an unbridled arrogance and contempt for the well being of the American people. Were Schumer, Graham and the rest of the self serving criminals in Congress and the White House sincere in their concern for the American people, they would drop this phony initiative and resolve the most pressing issue for Americans, unemployment and the lack of jobs for our own people. That is the only issue we need be concerned with. We have enough poor people of our own to feed.  Just my opinion.

One Response to Political Public Opinion: Immigration Reform – Hypocracy And Hidden Agendas

  1. The Sarcastic Cynic says:

We can always depend on congress to get it ass backwards on any issue. In a sane America in an effort to control costs congress and the executive branch would seal the borders and enforce immigration laws, deny welfare, social security and health care benefits to illegals who are overwhelming our hospitals, schools and entitlement programs, deport as many as possible of the 40 million -the real number-who are here. Instead these elected elite are going to pass health care with government sanctioned and paid for abortions in order to hold down costs. After WWII this country welcomed a generation of baby boomers but today we welcome the advent of baby death panels. It is readily evident that exponentially we will eventually be overrun and by default become the minority in what was once our land by those foreign cultures who, already on the path to crowding us out, follow their gods’ rejection of infanticide.
