“Corruption is a tree, whose branches are of immeasurable length; they spread everywhere, and the dew that drops from thence, hath infected some chairs and stools of authority.”
Honest Man’s fortune – Act III, Scene 3

That’s how much I stuck’em for….
I like many others am wondering how much longer the Democrat’s farsical defence of Charlie Rangle’s criminality is going to persist. Rangel seems a perfect fit along with the more than a few Obamanites currently in office, who have “under reported” or hid taxable income, property and perks given them by the “K Street Pimps.”
The Chairman of On September 24, 2008, the House Ethics Committee announced an investigation into Rangel’s alleged failure to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in rental income or pay taxes on a beach rental property in the Dominican Republic, allegedly living in multiple rent-stabilized apartments in New York City while claiming his Washington, D.C. home as his primary residence for tax purposes, alleged use of congressional stationery to solicit donors for a public policy institute in his name at City College, and other questionable activities. On February 25th, 2010, the Associated Press reports that the committee found that Rangel had violated house ethics rules. Rangel’s role in the Diageo Rum Bailout also became controversial during 2009. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_B._Rangel
Rep. Charles Rangel’s ongoing ethics probe is taking a serious toll – on his campaign war chest. In the last three months of 2009 alone, Rangel shelled out $574,348 on lawyers, according to his latest federal election filings. That’s 84% of his total campaign spending during the same period.Ever since Rangel ran afoul of several ethical rules last year – from unreported income on a Dominican Republic villa to using office letterhead to raise money – his five teams of lawyers have chewed through campaign cash faster than Rangel can raise it.
Today, (Feb. 26, 2010), TheNew York Daily News reported: During all of 2009, Rangel raised about $1.3 million, but spent more than $1.5 million on lawyers out of the $2.2 million he spent in total. Rangel tried to blame the violations on sloppy bookkeeping and asked a House ethics panel to investigate his actions amid the outcry from GOP…. The powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee ended the year with $770,589 in his account – and that’s off his normal fund-raising pace by about $2 million. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2010/02/01/2010-02-01_rep_charlie_rangel_spent_574k_on_lawyers_last_quarter__most_of_his_campaign_spen.html#ixzz0gekG4vdw
One of the most powerful and prestigious committees in the House of Representatives, this committee has general jurisdiction over all revenue measures, which constitutionally must originate in the House, and is responsible for managing the public debt, the tariff and trade laws, and the Social Security and Medicare systems. Until 1865, when the separate Appropriations Committee was created, it also had jurisdiction over virtually all spending measures. Legislation originating in the Committee on Ways and Means is privileged business, meaning that it may receive floor consideration ahead of other bills. Often, matters originating in this committee have very restrictive or closed rules, reducing or eliminating floor amendments.
Rangel’s tenure has, it would seem, been akin to putting the “fox in the hen house,” But that’s probably sugar coating it. While many people are confronted, harassed and ruined by the IRS, Rangel, protected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House, continues to make decisions involving spending our tax money while he dances around the allegations against him, (which seem fact rather than fiction), and continues his involvement in House transactions. Were this a Republican the gallows would already be constructed on the Washington Elipse, where seating could be arranged for the partisan crowd who would no doubt cheer when the floor trap gave way….but I digress.
What is at issue here is another example of institutionalized corruption thrown in the face of American taxpayers. Were the real world fair in any way, those gallows would be built to accommodate not just Rangel, but those who are protecting him. Just my opinion.
Life is stupid, keep laughing…..
The answer as to why he is still in office: Holder. Nothing controversial or invasive in the pursuit of true justice will ever take a left turn during this administration. No Democrat or leftist one will go to jail. Not one. Trust me.
I’m sure that these days any FBI agent violating congressional freezer privacy laws would find himself in hot water.
Rangle Bangle is a perfect example of someone exercising his abuse of power. Over the years I’ve watched how he showed nothing but arrogance—just being above it all because of the position he holds. He once told a reporter, “Why don’t you mind your own F”&%$#^ business? Now that he’s been caught with his pants down suddenly he doesn’t have the power or backing of his supporters. What troubles me is there are many more like him walking up and down the corridors in Washington. They just haven’t been caught yet. I hope that changes soon. The FBI need to check our elected official’s freezers.
Charlie “The Red” Rangle is still in office owing to the following: As a melanin correctly endowed guy running unopposed for most of his decades long stretch (no pun intended) in congress, he as others of his ilk is for all intents and purposes are above the law. In addition…
*Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) said Monday that issued the following statement in response to the release of President Obama’s budget outline for Fiscal Year 2011: * “President Obama’s budget reflects many of the priorities and challenges of our time. The blueprint outlines a straightforward approach focused on job creation, economic security for middle-class families, and restoring America’s fiscal health. I have no doubt this budget will ignite a spirited debate on the future of our nation and I only hope the debate can be more focused on policy than politics.“
This illustrates how good and dependable a soldier Charlie is on the war against all that is America. It will take a crowbar to dislodge him from ‘The Rangle Seat”. Just MY opinion?
