“Much of the social history of the western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good.”
Thomas Sowell
Frank Luntz a well known pollster in his book “What Americans Really Want…Really,” based his findings after interviewing 6400 people from all sides, to define what Americans really want regarding the whole issue of government run health care, (that among other issues outlined in the book. ) The conclusion, regarding health care reform, ( apparent to any one that has the ability to empirically reason), is that Americans want their medical professionals, not the government making their health care decisions.
The corrupted partisans forcing this move, I believe, do not care one bit about any one’s well being. Government control over health care, will increase the bureaucracy and by rote, the power of liberal politicians – something that has nothing to do with medical care and everything to do with government control over American’s freedom of choice.
At a town hall meeting in Orange County, Ca. this past weekend, over two thousand angry people showed up. While watching clips of that meeting one man made a statement-question that put the whole issue in perspective. The gentleman passionately stated, (I’m paraphrasing), “President Obama wants to fix the health care system, lower costs and reform medicare – then what is he waiting for? Fix the fraud and corruption in medicare first.”
He of course hit the nail squarely on the head. The government is unable to police it’s own lack of response to corruption and is unable to control frivolous spending. The easier conclusion to the whole mess is that the government is inept, corrupt and by it’s very nature of colluding with corrupt influences, is in no position to run anything, especially when it comes to the public’s well being.
The one interesting feature that no one points out in this debate is that the political proponents of this bill are politicians who have never contributed anything to society other than make a career out of sponging off of the American taxpayer, and taking bribes from lobbyists representing various corporate and political interest groups. With that being said it might be incumbent to ask, who is going to really profit if the Democrats railroad this bill though? Yep – you guessed it – it ain’t you or me.
The bottom line…if you want to fix health care, address the inequality, inequity, waste and cost of health care, fix the system already in place – it will be cheaper and the changes needed are no mystery. Just my opinion.
William McCullough
Well, the problem real problem we seem to be facing with legislative tyranny in American politics is incumbents. Those who will not back down and let new ideas into the forum, not to mention the longer one is on capital hill the less they will do. I say this because they end up taking money and making deals with every tinpot lobby in Washington. Prevent legislative tyranny by creating term limits, that is my solution. Then law enforcement might not be so worried as to arrest some of those corrupt bastards on their blatant disregard for common law in which common Americans are held to. Case and point, DEAD TED (Kennedy).–Funny thing was he was a walking corpse when he was alive–
