“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It’s a way of looking through life from the wrong end of the telescope.”
Dr. Suess
Oliver Stone has transitioned over the years to become one of Hollywood’s liberal elites. His latest film, “South of the Border,” is set to be released at the Venice Film Festival this week. This particular project is intended to put a human face on Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, Bolivia’s Evo Morales and a host of other “new left” cartoon characters.
Reed Johnson’s in his critique, Los Angeles Times – Calendar Section, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, points out Stone, who is shown in the film, “warmly embracing Chavez,” and his co-producer Tariq Ali, a well known Arab leftist, say that the roughly 90 minute documentary, “ isn’t intended to be a comprehensive analysis of current South American political trends.” Whereupon I would say to Senor’ Ali and his amigo Oliver, why do the film at all. If this is not an analysis of the systems destroying these countries economies, than it is nothing more than a “fluff” piece, by a couple of leftist fluffers.
We now might logically want to ask, who is actually financing this ode to leftist dictatorships? I might contend that it is Hugo Chavez, (using the money he has stolen from the nationalized banks and oil industries in Venezuela), who may well be the culprit….this further leads me to wonder, what is Oliver Stone smoking, drinking or ingesting, that would lead him to bend over for these leftist dictators?
Now that I’ve said that, I must concede, having spent time around these film industry morons in my past, that no drug was probably needed to make this project. The Hollywood miscreants live in their own make believe world, so they can bend any make believe reality, to their make believe reality. You might think that I am getting a headache from these thoughts swirling around my ’cerebro’ while writing this piece, but not to worry, my thoughts are grounded in the real world, which is the only stable anchor against the ebbing tide of reality that drives Oliver Stone and his compadres in the film world.
While I cannot in reality discern Stone’s true motives in making this film, be it money or a juvenile fawning over a bankrupt political philosophy, what I can say is Senor Oliver needs to catch the next shuttle back to the real world unless of course he is too lost to find his way back to the station. As forTariq Ali, eating all that humas and blowing on all those hookahs, may have rotted his chain smoking brain – but who cares anyway - you know how crazy those Arabs can be, (yes I really said that.) Just my opinion.

I understand anyone’s frustration with Oliver Stone. Here is the man who unraveled and ultimately solved the mystery behind the kennedy assasination and yet is unable to discern that his antics are lending wholehearted support to the worldwide leftist anti-america movement. Hey Oliver, genius that you are solve this one: where’s Waldo?
I happen to agree with your opinion.
The thing is that uninformed people watch this leftist fluff entitled a documentary and believe it.
BTW – like the Suess quote.
Tracy, thank you for your comment – Dr. Suess might prove the sage on this one.
