“Lest we forget at least an over the shoulder acknowledgement to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history….the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom – Lucifer.”
Opening page – Dedication – Rules For Radicals, by Saul Alinsky
It is by now no secret that our current President is the antithesis of representative democracy despite appearances to the contrary. Marxist dogma leaves no role for representative democracy once the objective of a Marxist take over is achieved. Critics to this statement would be wise to research Barack Obama’s background a bit deeper than the hyperbole and distractions being fed to them by the liberal mainstream media partisans – they having no idea who he really is.
When Obama arrived in Chicago to become a community organizer he became part of Saul Alinsky’s Developing Communities Project. This group set up workshops to train community organizers using Alinsky’s, Rules For Radicals, as the basis of it’s training protocol. Alinsky wrote: “Radicals must be resilient, adaptable to shifting political circumstances, and sensitive enough to process of action and reaction to avoid being trapped by their own tactics and forced to travel a road not of their own choosing.” (pg. 6)
Alinsky wrote a basic table of tactics which should be followed by a successful community organizer and the following is an excerpt from his preamble to those tactics: “Tactics are these conscious deliberate acts by which human beings live with each other and deal with the world around them….Here our concern is with the tactic of taking; how the Have-Nots can take power from the Haves.” (pg. 26)
Upon examination of “Tactics,” we might note that rule number seven states: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time….” We can look at this in one of two ways, first, is Obama hammering his policy of “change” too hard on his attempted goals, and will that dilute interst in his message of “change,” or second, are we, (the public at large), being worn down to the point of not being able to sustain our opposition to his agenda - I would hope the former is true rather than the latter.
The one thing that remains consistent in Obama’s intentions is his adherence to Alinky’s rules. Should you have any doubts I would invite you to review those rules, they are available in many University libraries. The book is currently out of print, but I would be willing to bet Obama has a copy, and re-reads those “rules” every night before he goes to sleep – maybe we should too. Just my opinion….William McCullough
