Save Swine Flu Drugs For Younger Patients…. Health Day.com, Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Anti-viral treatment of the swine flu may be wasted on the elderly and should be reserved for the young people….according to Stefano Merler of the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Italy….Give Young Priority For Swine Flu Anti-virals. CBC.com – Canadian broadcasting Corporation, Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Anti-viral drugs for swine flu may be wasted on elderly patients….researchers, (from the same foundation), said their their mathematical model suggested giving anti-viral drugs to the elderly would not significantly reduce mortality, (and I say these guys are drinking too much red wine.)
I did not put two different sources on this story to be redundant. I was intrigued by this story because it seems to fit right in with Obama’s health care reform bill which will cut back and restrict certain drugs and procedures that senior citizens may need to survive – I also wanted to show that the media will take these studies, print them and run with them, fostering fear and confusion in their wake.
Looking at this story it seems to me that this study means that those of us nearing that dividing line, 65 and older, and those of you who are not, but have parents who are, might as well reserve plots and urns right now. What also seems apparent is that socialists who are allegedly “humanistic,” (my word), are anything but that. Socialist bureaucrats who would run the new health care system, (like the aforementioned researchers), are devoid of empathy, (Sonya Sotomayor’s buzz word), and totally detached from their humanity; if they weren’t they would not be a part of this “culling” of the elderly population. I would add that those of you who wanted change by electing this administration are going to get it – the only problem is that you may not survive it, once you turn 65. Just my opinion.
