Comment – Opinion. Conceit knows no bounds when it comes to the lightly disguised self aggrandizement displayed by this President. Last night’s speech said a lot about Obama’s righteous opinion regarding what he, Barak Obama, wants done – to insure his socialist legacy.
The content of his speech last night was a rehash of his past statements regarding his desire to bring down the cost of medical care while providing available health care for all Americans. Some of the examples used for justification of the bill were very weak and dubious at best. One example is that he said Americans who pay health care premiums have seen their costs of the premiums go up three times from what they were last year. This is of course may be an exaggeration, premiums have increased slightly – but not three times their previous cost. Another example was Obama’s statement that the survivability rate of patients in European countries, (who have socialized medicine), was the same as ours-this is of course a misstatement of facts at best or just an outright lie. Actuarial tables show, (using Britain as an example), that country has a six times higher rate of death among those with cancer-this due to rationing of treatment, to reduce medical costs. Another factual example, (in repudiation of his exaggerations), is that all of these socialized medical programs severely drop the survivability rate of elderly patients as their care is severely rationed in favor of younger patients. That is an irrefutable fact that is on the record.
Rather than continue to point out the inconsistencies and tired hyperbole in last night’s speech I will point out that one of the most dangerous red flags in his tired argument is the expense of the program would be defrayed by taxing the rich. First, the elite rich have never been taxed to the point of extinction as would be required in order to finance Obama’s program as he has stated, however the next group, the over-taxed middle class, will be driven to extinction if Obama’s socialist programs are in fact signed into law. The second most important red flag is the term reduction in cost. To anyone with a sense of logic, the government doesn”t know how too reduce costs, but it certainly knows how to tax and spend more. In the end it comes down to what Obama wants – not what is best for anybody. He is a fraud, this is all about his ego and his legacy. Just my opinion.
