Political Public Opinion: Cap and Trade – Another Democratic Scam

Comment – Opinion.  The “Cap and trade” proposal, (American Clean Energy and Security Act HR – 2454), being railroaded through the House of Representatives is a scam that will allegedly reduce C02 emissions, (green house gases), with the end result being clean energy not reliant on fossil fuels. The main objective though is to have an effect that will slow global warming.

Under the program, the government will issue permits, (licenses), to energy consuming businesses  to operate under guidelines that will determine how much and what kind of energy sources they can use. The program while well intended, (on the surface), will actually increase the cost of doing business as industries are forced to comply with whatever provisions  HR-2454 outlines. While reading portions of this bill I saw that certain industries will be able to buy “carbon credits” which will allow them to continue using energy without change, the idea being that those monies, (carbon credits), will be used in other area to reduce carbon emissions – another words, business as usual at an increased cost. Provisions of the bill allow industries to pass on the costs of the program to consumers. The end result will be that the average American in addition to paying higher taxes to support this program, will also be forced to pay higher costs for energy, goods and services as a result of the increased cost of business being passed on to the consumer.

The largest polluters, India  and China, have said that they will not participate in any programs to reduce emissions. However, the Obama administration is going to force the American taxpayer to participate in this program which has been estimated, will  reduce global Co2 emissions by .002 percent.

In summary – this program is unworkable and will further hinder American productivity and reduce consumer spending because we will not be able to afford the increased economic costs….Meanwhile China and India will continue  their output of goods and services under no restriction. U.S. companies are already moving their businesses to other countries at the cost of American jobs, and the question is when will this downward spiral stop? I would guess when this moronic President and his “tax and spend” Democrats are out of power. That being said - once gone, how long, (if ever), will it take to reverse the damage this corrupt administration has caused to the American economy – you be the judge – look in your wallet and you will have your answer. Just my opinion.
