The Last Best Hope On Earth….July 4th is much more than an American holiday. (Wall Street Journal, July 3, 2009, by Bill Bennett and John Cribb.)” I have never had a feeling that did not spring from the sentiments embodied in the Declaration Independence.” Bennett writes, “This statement from Abraham Lincoln in Philadelphiain 1861 was no staff – manufactured line. It was an expression from a man filled with deep emotion, standing in the hall where a courageous band of rebels, pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to a high and dangerous purpose – American Independence. We celebrate them on July 4th.”
This was a beautifully crafted and articulated thought on the source of the freedoms we possess as a result of the courage of those who had the will to resist tyranny. Now, so do we, stand at the threshold of a tyranny far worse than that of a distant power. Our tyranny is slowly slithering forward based on ideology and dogma of a socialist system that is anathema to our freedom and rather than a frontal strike we are being threatened from within. This President and those pulling his strings are playing on a political system that while has never been perfect, is now corrupt and easily bought off to look the other way as we slide toward “soft” totalitarian socialism. You may not agree, but that’s….Just my opinion.

Thanks. Unless your profession is engrossed in american history, it seems easy to forget what previous americans went through for us to have our current freedoms. Hope it does not take something drastic for us to appreciate our freedoms
