Comment – Opinion. Obama will be visiting Russia this week. He, (Obama), armed with good intention and a mountain of naivete is about to attempt to realign U.S. and Russian relations by finding a common ground in the area of nuclear disarmament. What is apparent to anyone with a knowledge of Russian culture and politics is that they will glad hand him and roll over him like a mack truck over a fruit rat.
Obama’s foreign policy advisor’s, a la Jimmy Carter, seem unable to note that the Russians, like many of our other adversaries think he is weak – the most blatent example, when in April, they rebuffed Obama’s offer to scrap our proposed missile defense shield in eastern Europe for their support in sanctions against Iran. What is apparent and goes to his naivete is that our President does not get is that by this initial response of his overture to the Russians, he has come out looking weak and naive in the face of Russian power politics.
I believe that this trip will be of no benefit to us and a win for the Russians who will send Obama home with a hearty slap on the back and a handshake – in essence they will drink him under the table. There is no benefit, for them to give any ground to the U.S. – the problem for Obama is that the Russians, like the Chinese, who have seen the success of our free enterprise capitalist system, have embraced that direction in their economies while Obama is attempting to move backwards with his worn out socialist agenda – and destroy ours.
Russia, like the Chinese, realizes that in reality the only way they can gain advantage and destroy us, is to defeat us through economic competition rather than military adventurism. Unlike the U.S., Russia is under no illusion regarding the development of alternative energy sources and has no problem exploiting and developing their oil and gas energy resources for their national benefit.
In summary, I believe Obama, despite any positive spin afforded him by our mainstream media, will come back having gained nothing and once again expose himself as foolish and naive in foreign policy matters. One last thing Mr. President, if you think we are a racist society, the Russians have us beat a thousand fold – they have no empathy for your skin color – they deal in reality. Just my opinion.

Absolutely dead on. The Kenyan thinks he’s going to impress them with his “wit” and good looks. Medvedev said the Kenyan’s election to President signaled the decline of this nation. I think he’s right.
