Comment – Opinion. I awoke this 4th of July morning to a beautiful day, birds were singing, dogs barkings, fire engine sirens sounding in the valley below and the occasional pop of a fire cracker set off by an early 4th of July celebrant. After drinking my coffee I hooked up my unruly 125lb. Rottweiler puppy to his shock collar and leash and left on our daily, early morning walk. Walking down the street I became aware that there were only six flags flying in front of approximately a dozen and a half homes in my view. Most of us will remember as children in the 50s, 60s and before, when with our parents or on our own with friends we would look forward to the annual 4thof July parade, complete with flags, floats, pretty girls, marching bands and older veterans all marching down a main street. People had children on their shoulders and all in all everyone had a pretty good time. Later in the day picnics. barbecues and finally fireworks finished off a great day – that was then – this is now.
Since those days, a darkness has settled on the land with the advent of political correctness and the ridicule by those on the left, who dispise displays of patriotism. These proponents of guilt and shame of our country have imposed their criticism of patriotic emotion on Americans, most of whom have sat back silently and let these cretins hi-jack our country. Thinking further I mused how while these hate mongers comment that rallies such as tea bag parties, ( which are legitimate public protests against government imposed socialism through excessive taxation), as nothing more than death rattles of the reactionary right – the truth of the matter is that these narrow minded and myopic focused individuals cannot tolerate anyone who disagrees with them – the right to free expression is theirs and theirs only.
However, it finally looks like many Americans are finding this display of double standards by the left as becoming tiresome, and we have none other to thank than our current President who has single handedly accelerated the economic downfall of our nations economy in his intent to bring global socialism to the American people. ….In my opinion it’s time we take our country back. Just my opinion.

I hadn’t noticed the absence of Old Glory on display since I left my home at 3:00 A.M. to be the first one on line at Wal-Mart for the 4th of July sales. And by doing so I was able to save $10.00. Now I am able to afford to take one of my children with me for a slice of pizza. Of course we will have to share a Coke since it’s also $10.00.
Bill, the July 4Th article was right on. We are loosing our freedom day by day. It reminds me of the story of the frog in a pan of water over a fire on the stove. They say if you turn up the heat just a little at a time he will not be aware of the heat until he is cooked. I honest believe many, many of the people have been warned. Why aren’t a majority of the people jumping out before it’s too late. I believe folks like you and I have become aware of the heat and came out and trying to do something about it. We need help!
Keep up the the work!

I find no shame nor criminal offense in taking this country back. In fact it is prescribed and ordained by our forefathers.
Bill you’re another old white male whacko like me, these people want their material wealth and they want tyo be entertained. They do not give a damn about 100 years from now, prnciple is dead. They complained about the military industrial complex and the deficit from fighting a huge war that was necessary after eight years of a 40 percent … Read Morereduction in the defense budget.
Eight of the same years of a threat that mushroomed and killed scores of people while Clinton did nothing. They could not wait to get rid of Bush and six months after he left office is is chaos and weakness and vulnerability with arrogant attack threats that are brazen, because they know Obama will do nothing.
Constructive espionage by the repeated compromise of deeply classified interrogation techniques handed to the enemy. That is an impeachable offiense and not one word was spoken against him. Thanks for the shiv in the back.
