Comment – Opinion. On June 2, 2009, I wrote an article, “Obama’s Car Czar Under Investigation by SEC.” I told how Steve Ratner the former newsman turned investment banker was under investigation and soon to be indicted for bribery and fraud by the Securities and Exchange commission. Ratner appointed as head of the administration’s “Auto Task Force,” a group of inexperienced bureaucrats, is charged with deciding which auto dealerships, (among it’s other responsibilities), not profitable, that should be closed under the Chrysler bankruptcy plan.
According to unnamed sources at the Treasury Department, the task force members, who are trying to understand the complexities of the automobile industry and it’s relationship to it’s distributors, are totally inept in understanding the auto dealership business model, or so it may seem.
Congressman Ted Poe, (R-Tx), in a Congressional speech on the House floor, ( June 18, 2009), illustrated how the task force is actually closing down profitable dealerships that contributed to Republican causes and candidates, (you can view the speech on YouTube.com.) Rep. Poe pointed out the example of a long time dealership in Arlington, Texas, that was one of those closed down by the task force – the dealership’s three generations of owners were, (unfortunately for them), Republican supporters – this dealership was one of the most profitable of Chrysler’s dealerships in the U.S.
I have pointed out more than a few times that the corrupt figures in the Obama administration and their retaliation against those who do not support them, are reminiscent of the late Richard Nixon who during his administration, had an enemies list and took retaliatory measures against those he considered a threat. In recent white House briefings, Obama, who is now beginning to asked tough questions by some of the White House press corps, is close to losing his cool when asked questions that challenge his unsubstantiated claims on the success of his policy decisions. I will be curious to see if the narcissistic and pampered superstar, will be able to hide his anger, ( as the press corps begins asking tougher questions), towards those who challenge him.
Just my opinion.

Here a czar there a czar everywhere a czar czar. Unelected, uninterviewed, unvetted, salaries unknown, duties unknown, the ability to bypass Congress and the courts, answerable only to Caeser. Wait till the knuckleheads in both houses of congress find out that there power is being usrped by the czars. We need an election czar who can declare that elections serve no purpose and will no longer authorize them.
This is a very interesting notion, seeing as how Obama’s administration is claiming to want or attempt to help stimulate a tumultuous economy. I for one believe we are paying witness to the beginings of George Orwell’s 1984, nightmare come to realistic fruition.
