Is this war – or just make believe war? Let me get this straight – in those situations where a unit is under threat of being over run - there will be no air strikes if there are civilians in the area? The Taliban have always used civilians as part of their O.P., (operational procedure), because they hope it will cause hesitation on the part of U.S. and NATO forces to press an attack on them. Additionally, we now have ‘Miranda rights’ read to Taliban detainees and rules that troops will not be able to search them without probable cause – or do whatever is necessary to gain information from them?
I have a suggestion for Obama and his political General McCrystal, (who should know better), pull the troops out and go home. Obama and his asinine rules of engagement are guaranteed to fill body bags with Americans on a scale not seen since Viet Nam – I dare anyone to dispute that based on these new rules of engagement. These moves are an out and out betrayal of our troops based on a political correctness doctrine - based on the ‘emotional sensitivities’ of people who themselves have never been in danger - Gen. McCrystal should tell Obama and his cowardly elves to stick it . Obama who has never been exposed to war or had the “huevos” to enlist in the military, evidently does not have much of a historical perspective, (as usual), and while he may be “intelligent’ as claimed by his syncophants – he is incredibly inept and naive when it comes to conducting a war.

I still say “Let the men and women that are over there do their job no strings attached” WAR IS WAR what part of War says the animals that were involved in attacking us on American soil deserve to be treated Humane? Get in and get out. Get It Done. Stop toying with our military men, women, and family’s lives. Do you stand for someone telling you continualy to change the way you do your job. Come on… We have armed these intellegent men and women that have the courage to protect our great country so let them do their job so they can come home and continue to live in this great country.
USMC Mom – You have called it correctly. Roe’s helped my one son get wounded in Iraq – thankfully my other son was not wounded. The problem with ROE’s is that they are not well thought out, if at all, and the authors of these moves are corrupt politicians and their flunky non-combatant lawyers in the Pentagon.
More than a few officers with battle ribbons from Viet Nam, recieved them while in ‘command and control’ aircraft and were never exposed to the hostile incidents as were the grunts.
If you ever visit the Pentagon you will see a lot of upper echelon weenies sporting ‘battle’ ribbons they never earned – that unfortuantely is a sad truth.

While The Obamanator may appear to be inept and naive he is neither in my opinion. The Obamanator is following the script as laid down by those foreign interets who bankrolled his presidential campaign with overseas credit card donations- where did I get that from?- oh, nowhere, just hyperbole on my part, sorry. Any way, what we are seeing here is a revival of the old “Domino Theory” in the middle east. We believed we stopped it in Southeast Asia because we believed in borders. In our new world without borders there may be no stopping this onslaught. Of course now we don’t say communist and if we do we are right wing whackos. After all didn’t we halt the worldwide communist movement when we brought the Soviet Union to its knees…guess again bucko. Paraphrasing here; Stalin said, “they will sell us the rope that we will hang them with.” Todays mantra, ” We will hang them with the president we helped them elect.” Maybe a bit goofy but just a thought.
