Torture Memos – Postscript

Comment.  In my post on “Torture Memos”, (April 23, 2009), I mentioned the fact that I believed that this story was beginning to exhibit signs of schizophrenia. The far left was, (and is), calling for special prosecutors.  Obama who said last week that there would be selective investigations, has  now said , after he ordered released declassified memo’s detailing the  CIA’s interrogation techniques, (as reported in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, L.A. Times, Fox News, and most other media outlets – April 22, 2009),  there would be an investigation of only those who wrote the policies.

Today it was announced, (Commission on CIA tactics Unlikely, Wall Street Journal,  April 24, 2009, by Naftali Bendavid and Jonathan Weisman), that Sen. Harry Reed, (D-NV), has rejected those calls for an investigation of the CIA tactics, (of alleged “torture” methods), at least until the Senate Intelligence Committee completed it’s investigation.  Sen. Diane Feinstein, (D-CA),  in a letter to Obama, informed him that Intelligence committee review would take at least six to eight months.

Now we have Sen. Pelosi, (D-CA), who was reported in various media releases, (yesterday, April 23, 2009), as having  knowledge of the interogation techniques being used. Pelosi replied to the reports publicly,  that she was not informed  in  the more than thirty briefings, ( held between 2002 – 2007, conducted by the CIA for members of Congress and the Senate), of  tactics employed by the  CIA during interogations of terrorists. The reports concerning Pelosi’s presence, and knowledge of those tactics, were backed up by transcriptions of  briefings she and others from both parties attended,  and were  recorded in the Washington Post in December of 2007.

What we have here is a mess.  Sen. Pelosi is publicly lying about her knowledge of the interrogation techniques employed by the CIA ,  and those Democrats  present at those meetings,  are heading for cover and hoping that the six to eight month Select Intelligence Committee investigation will give them time to  deflect their involvement in the briefings, (at least for the near future). Then we have Obama who evidently is not in control of his administration, sputtering conflicting  statements on a week to week  basis, that show a bewilderment as how to proceed.  (The problem with Obama is that he is used to talking his way out of things). It is apparent at this point, (at least to me), that a  scandal  may be brewing because the Democrats who have been arrogant and obnoxious in their protestation of  knowledge of CIA interrogation techniques,  will be shown as hypocrites and liars.

I believe that Obama who has never had any executive experience,  has no clue as how to proceed. It seems to me that more than one person is pulling his strings and those people are not co-ordinating their agenda –  and that is showing how shallow and inexperienced that Obama really is – it may also indicate that he is a front man for something more sinister.  I leave it to you.

I don’t think this will affect her at all – the corruption in the mainstream media is too great and the elites who
control the mainstream media are no doubt, in some way sharing in the current administration’s corruption.
