Comment. This is the last time, for now, that I will bring up the sad subject of the four murdered Oakland Police Officers. Watching the u-tube video of the funeral, with commentary by Micheal Savage, I was reminded of my own near death at the hands of low life gang bangers, one of whom was an illegal alien. One of the comments made by Savage was that of the R.O.E. foisted upon law officers as well as our military, ( for the uninitiated that acronym means “rules of engagement.” ) This concept first reared it cowardly head during Viet Nam where in certain instances you had to be shot at before returning fire. This concept was initiated by lawyers in uniform, (the Cretans who were too cowardly to participate in combat and sat safely in HQs or the Pentagon, or who at best were in command and control choppers, “big birds”, safely above the fray, and helped get thousands of troops killed by their asinine liberal sentiments – you should also know that these same officers who flew in the “big birds” had on a regular basis had themselves awarded Bronze stars and other awards that should have went to warriors not useless desk jockeys and REMFS – ask someone you know who has been in the military to explain the meaning of that acronym.)
Rules of engagement eventually creeped into law enforcement and as a result you had police officers who should have reacted in self defense hesitate in that fateful moment and were killed or maimed for life; (the only reason I am here to tell you this is that I disregarded that whole concept), a further note, as I understand it the Oakland SWAT officers were not allowed to use “bat shields”, (a bullet proof plexiglass shield held up by the first man in when officers make entry on an armed and possibly barricaded suspect), which may have saved at least the two SWAT officers who were killed making entry on the killer; by the way LAPD has the same policy.
My last comment is on Micheal Savage’s dialogue regarding the Liberal politicians on stage for the memorial service fro the slain officers. The creeps are the very people who through their continued, ”feel good”, policies towards the criminal scum, had a hand in these officers deaths. One item of note and not reported by the media was the fact that this piece of garbage was wanted for the rape of a 12 year old girl he abducted off of the street.
Iraq – stand by. According to news reports this morning, (Sunday, March 29, 2009),the Iraqi army is trying to disarm Sunni tribesmen who through their “Awakening movement”, helped break the back of the foreign fighters in Iraq. It will be interesting to see if this move will bring back an escalation of insurgent violence as this move by the Iraqi army continues.
Note: While working on a protection detail for one of Saudi Crown Prince Sultan’s daughters in 2005, I was witness to an exchange, in our command post, by Saudi Gen. Monsoor talking with someone on the phone from Riyadh. The General became irate and began shouting into the phone and then slammed it down.I later asked one of the girls in the princess’s retinue what that was all about. She told me that a number of Saudi National Guardsmen had taken their annual leave and were fighting with the insurgents in Iraq. Apparently their losses were so high the General in a rage demanded their immediate return which quickly followed. Is this keeping our friends close and our enemies closer? You make the call.
